SECTION 8
A. Balconies are typically used to mount and interconnect the following equipment:
B. Hydraulic power units, hydrostatic drive units and hydraulic valve stands.
C. Weld Control Panels as required.
D. Electrical enclosures to house programmable controllers, induction cure equipment, associated power supplies, and any required I/O racks.
E. Power and interface panels to house motor starters and interface relays.
F. Surge tanks.
Balcony shall be designed and constructed to provide accessibility to all electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic installations (NO SOLID PLATING ON BOTTOM SIDE OF BALCONY PERMITTED).
Provide a removable balcony rail section in the vicinity of hydraulic power units to provide access for maintenance or removal.
Coordinate the stairway location with plant layout.
Exact length and height of balconies shall be determined in Design by the Supplier and subject to approval by AZ Automotive Tool Process Engineering and the receiving plant.
Design and construction of the balcony shall accommodate the removal of balcony legs for shipping.
Provide continuous 4 foot or 8 foot fluorescent lighting, per AZ Automotive Approved Source List, mounted to bottom side of the balcony, for each fixture that is mounted under a balcony.
All balcony hole cutouts shall have 1" x 1" x 1/8" angle guarding, with vertical leg facing down.
Any support or accessory units needed to enable shipment shall be the Supplier's responsibility.
Identify all break joints for ease of reassembly.

The Supplier is responsible for all interconnections between control enclosures, hydraulic power units and weld control panels.
Wiring and piping runs from control enclosures to the hydraulic power unit and weld control panels shall be under the balcony floor.
A. Water headers shall be threaded at both ends of the pipe for proper installation at AZ Automotive Plant.
B. The Supplier shall provide approved shutoff valves at both ends of the main water and air feeds.
C. The Supplier shall provide tee connections from main water headers to each bank of fixture weld controls.
Do not weld fence post guarding, or tapping plates to expanded metal or grip strut. They must be welded to the balcony support structure.
Open ends of grip strut metal decking shall be covered with flat stock at stairways and where platforms are bolted together.
